Our breast care team includes four surgeons, three breast physicians, three nurses, a psychologist and support staff.

 Your breast doctor will provide the highest standards in diagnosis and treatment of any breast problem you are experiencing.

Nurse Jan.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse

 

Jan joined the Breast Associates team in 2003 and in 2005 became an accredited breast care nurse. She has a strong interest in women's health and has worked within the health sector for the last 25 years. 

Often the breast care nurse is the first point of contact for the patient when needing support and advice. Jan sees one of her roles to be the patients advocate and assist them through their journey of breast disease. 

In her spare time, Jan has varied interests, from bridge, exercise, enjoying the sun, sea and the surf.

Nurse Louise.

Qualifications

Louise is a registered general nurse with a strong background in surgical nursing and A&E work, including gaining experience overseas in this area in Exeter, Devon, in the the United Kingdom.

Louise has worked for Breast Associates since 2006 on a part-time basis. Louise sees her role as assisting patients through the emotional and physical pathways associated with benign and malignant breast and general surgical conditions. She values the opportunity to work in a challenging branch of women's health and medicine, aiming for the best outcome for our patients.

When not at work, Louise enjoys playing the piano, gardening and supporting her daughters on the tennis and netball courts, hockey turf and at pony club events.

Nurse Irma.

Qualifications

Irma is a registered general nurse with a strong background in women’s health, who joined the breast associates team in 2019. She has worked in woman’s health for 25 years of which she spent 4 years at Breast Screen Aotearoa. She completed the Advanced Nursing in Breast Care paper in 2016.
Irma is passionate about providing personal support for patients throughout their experience dealing with breast disease and general surgical conditions. She sees her role as being an advocate for women’s rights and assisting patients to make an informed decision.
Irma loves spending time with her family and outdoors and they spend many weekends exploring New Zealand in their motorhome.

Nurse Janice.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse

 

Janice has 17 years of experience in breast cancer nursing in both the public and private sectors. She first worked at Breast Associates from 2004 to 2008 then rejoined the team in July 2020. She is committed to providing patient-centred care and support to those diagnosed with breast cancer. In her spare time Janice enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, and reading.
