Breast reduction is a wonderful procedure that can change the size and shape of your breasts. It is suitable if you have large and pendulous breasts.
Breast reduction surgery will remove some breast tissue and then reshape your breasts so they look better and feel lighter.
Often women with large, heavy breasts have experienced years of their shoulders pulling forward, indentations from their shoulder bra straps, neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain. A breast reduction operation can help to solve this, and some women even say they sleep better at night afterwards.
Some insurance policies cover part of the breast reduction cost. We can discuss this with you on your first visit.
When you first visit Breast Associates for breast reduction surgery, we will examine your breasts to make sure there are no areas of concern. If you are older than 30 we will also ask you to have a mammogram.
The surgeon will then measure your breasts to see how much tissue is likely to be removed during the breast reduction operation.
If you are suitable for breast reduction surgery, we will book you in and take pre-operative photos. We will then discuss breast reduction cost and possible complications.
All surgery leaves scars, but at Breast Associates we take extra special care to make them as small as possible.

Your team keep a close eye on you for the first few weeks after your breast reduction surgery so you can raise any concerns you may have with them, such as scars, asymmetry, any loss of nipple sensation or slow healing.
However, breast reduction surgery is not a very painful procedure and most women are back to work in two to three weeks. Usually, healing will take around three weeks.
We will take more photos at six weeks, three months and one year after your breast reduction surgery, which will really highlight the difference your surgery has made.
Many of our patients say after surgery they wish they had a breast reduction operation much earlier. It really is a life-changing experience.
